A CENTURY OF ZERMATT HOSPITALITY...

A CENTURY OF ZERMATT HOSPITALITY

The ancestry of the Hotel Alpenblick goes back to one of the oldest Zermatt families. Adelrich Julen, mountain guide and grandfather of today's hotelier family Pannatier, bought the property and the building in 1928 together with his wife Anna Julen-Herder. Since its construction until its sale to the young family, the pension has been called Pension Des Alpes. Heidy Julen, the daughter of Adelrich Julen and Anna Julen-Herder took over the hotel in 1950 after the death of her parents.
In 1952 Heidy married the customs officer Daniel Pannatier. Pierre-André, the second son born in 1956, soon followed in the footsteps of his parents. When father and grandfather Daniel Pannatier died in 1990, Pierre-André and his wife Ingrid Antonia Pannatier-Schaller and Heidy Pannatier- Julen took over the Hotel Alpenblick for the third generation. Since the winter season of 2021, our long-time assistant Carol Bänninger has been actively supporting us as co-managing director and we are looking forward to celebrating the 120th anniversary of the company together in 2023.

"Even in difficult times, the guests have helped us through their loyalty to what we have created today."
